Based on my experience, the ideal time to travel to Lagi Beach, Binh Thuan is from May to July. This is summer, when the sun shines brightly, the sea is clear, and the waves are gentle, perfect for swimming, camping, or participating in outdoor activities. The temperature during this time ranges from 25-32°C, warm enough for you to enjoy without feeling too hot.
If you prefer cooler weather, from August to November is also a great choice. This is the late autumn period, with milder weather, the sea remains clear, and the air is fresh. However, avoid the peak rainy season at the end of the year, especially from November to February, as thunderstorms can affect your itinerary. If you love the feeling of freedom, try riding a motorbike to Lagi. From Ho Chi Minh City, the journey of about 150 km takes about 3.5-4 hours. There are two popular routes:
Traveling by motorbike is not only economical but also gives you the chance to stop and take photos along the beautiful roads. In Lagi, you can rent a motorbike (about 150,000 VND/day) to explore various locations, which is very flexible and convenient.
If you don’t want to drive yourself, taking a bus is a popular choice. From the Eastern Bus Station (Ho Chi Minh City), there are many reputable bus companies like My Loan, Cat Tien, A Liem with ticket prices ranging from 110,000-150,000 VND. The travel time is about 3-4.5 hours. Upon arriving at Lagi bus station, you can rent a motorbike or take a taxi to the attractions.
If you are in the North or Central regions, fly to Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) or Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), then take a bus or rent a car to Lagi. Although Binh Thuan does not have a commercial airport, traveling to Lagi from Ho Chi Minh City is very convenient.
When in Lagi, I recommend renting a motorbike to explore. The roads here are flat, the air is fresh, and the feeling of cruising along the coastal roads is an experience not to be missed when traveling to Lagi Beach, Binh Thuan.

I was captivated by the vibrant atmosphere, with beautiful check-in spots at every corner, from beach swings to colorful tents. During the day, you can swim, kayak, or surf. At night, Coco Beach transforms into a lively stage with DJ music, BBQ parties, and campfires. Don’t forget to be careful with the submerged rocks while swimming and book your room early, as it often gets fully booked on weekends.

Cam Binh Beach, also in Tan Phuoc commune, was once a symbol of Lagi with its pristine beauty. Although it has become more crowded now, Cam Binh still retains its fine white sand and clear blue water. I love sitting under the coconut trees, listening to the waves, and enjoying fresh seafood right on the beach. Here, you can join fishermen in net fishing, fly kites, or camp. The Cam Binh seafood market nearby is an ideal place to buy fresh shrimp, crabs, and squid at super cheap prices.
Dinh Thay Thim, located in Tan Tien commune, is a spiritual relic over 130 years old, associated with the legend of a couple of hermits who helped the locals. The architecture is reminiscent of the Nguyen dynasty, with intricate carvings and a tranquil space among the trees, making me feel the sacredness and peace. If you visit in the lunar September, you will be able to participate in the Dinh Thay Thim festival, a unique cultural experience when traveling to Lagi Beach, Binh Thuan.
Doi Duong Beach in Tan Binh commune is a favorite spot to watch the sunrise. The green casuarina trees, the long stretches of white sand, and the gentle waves create a poetic scene. In the evening, Doi Duong Park is an ideal place for a stroll, enjoying rice paper rolls, and listening to the sound of the waves. This beach is also linked to revolutionary history, bringing a feeling of both romance and pride.

About 30 km from Lagi, Ke Ga Lighthouse is a destination I always visit whenever I travel to Lagi Beach, Binh Thuan. The lighthouse, over 120 years old, stands tall on a small island, 500 m from the mainland. When the tide is low, a sandy path appears, leading you to the foot of the lighthouse. Climbing 183 steps to the top, gazing at the windy blue sea, I feel recharged. The sunset here, with sunlight shining on the green mossy rocks, is a breathtaking moment.
The cuisine of Lagi is an indispensable part of the trip to Lagi Beach, Binh Thuan. Being a coastal area, Lagi is famous for its fresh seafood and rustic dishes rich in Central Vietnam flavor. Here are some dishes I have tried and fallen in love with:
Seafood in Lagi is so cheap and fresh that I can hardly forget it. At Cam Binh market or Coco Beach area, you can enjoy grilled fish, fish salad, grilled box fish, or steamed mantis shrimp. A seafood meal for two costs only about 200,000-300,000 VND, prepared right on the spot, fragrant and full of sea flavor.
Cha lui in Lagi is a snack that captivates tourists. These chewy fish cakes, wrapped with fresh herbs, rice paper, and dipped in spicy fish sauce, cost only about 30,000 VND/portion. The Cha Lui 19/5 restaurant (35 Tran Hung Dao) is a famous spot that is always crowded.
Lagi grilled pork skewers are a specialty dish that should not be missed
Banh Can Lagi is small and cute, crispy, eaten with mixed fish sauce and scallion oil. Banh Can Thong Nhat (331 Thong Nhat) is my go-to place, with a price of only 20,000 VND/portion. Sitting on the sidewalk, enjoying food while chatting with locals is a very interesting experience.
Mi Quang Kim Suong (76 Nguyen Truong To) is the place I recommend for Mi Quang. A large bowl, filled with toppings, costs only 25,000 VND, but the rich broth makes me want to come back again.
Don't forget to buy Lagi fish sauce, dragon fruit jam, or dried seafood as souvenirs. Dai Dong Market is the ideal place to find quality specialties at affordable prices.
