Bac Le Temple is part of a complex of relics located on a hill in Bac Le village of Tan Thanh commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province. This ancient temple was built around the 16th - 17th century. It is dedicated to Mau Thuong Ngan, the Four Palaces, and the spirits, and is considered one of the few most sacred temples today.

The ancient temple is situated on a lush green mountain, surrounded by many shady ancient trees. It offers a peaceful landscape, rich in the traditional essence of ancient spiritual relics. If traveling from Lang Son city to here, visitors will have to travel about 70km. However, it can be combined with other sightseeing activities. The location is somewhat distant.

From below, you ascend to the magnificent entrance gate with exquisite carvings. Next, on the left side, there is the Chau Be Bac Le shrine featuring statues of Bac Le Boy, Bac Le Girl, and Chau Be. Visitors coming to worship Mau Thuong Ngan must stop at this shrine to ask for blessings before proceeding to the main temple.
After passing the Chau Be shrine, visitors will continue up the stairs to reach the main temple. The Bac Le Cong Dong Temple is built in the style of the Dinh character with an ancient and majestic inner sanctum and front worship area. The main hall consists of a row of three sturdy wooden pillars and is built with tiles covering an area of about 125m2.
The temple features ancient architecture
The roof of the temple is designed in the style of "Long trieu luong nghi", symbolizing heaven and earth, yin and yang. When yin and yang are in harmony, it leads to the flourishing of all things, bringing favorable weather. The worship area is designed with a total of 5 different sections, of which 3 outer sections worship the Five Deities. The area above the offering hall features a plaque inscribed with "Hung Tien Hien Tu".
Visiting Bac Le Temple, in addition to lighting incense and admiring the ancient architecture, visitors can also view various ancient artifacts from the past. Notably, there are 19 large and small Buddha statues made of wood. Therefore, this place is considered a sacred and unique destination that anyone visiting Lang Son should not miss.

To reach Bac Le Temple by personal vehicle is not too difficult; you just need to travel from Hanoi to Bac Giang via the highway. After passing through Bac Giang city for about 30km, you will arrive at Huu Lung town, Lang Son. Next, continue to Na Hoa bridge, turn left, and go about 10km to reach the relic.
There are many ways to get to the temple
For passenger buses, you can choose routes from Hanoi to Lang Son at various bus stations. Once you arrive at the bus station, you can take a motorbike taxi or taxi to the temple. However, this method will have travel time depending on the bus schedule, so it can be quite passive. Alternatively, you can rent a car if you want to save time.
