Ly Son is actually an island district belonging to Quang Ngai province, consisting of 3 islands formed: Cu Lao Re (also known as Big Island), An Binh island commune (also known as Small Island), and Mu Cu islet. Ly Son Island is the remnant of a volcanic eruption, and the lava has created the island as it is today. Belonging to the tropical monsoon climate, the Ly Son special area has two distinct seasons: dry and rainy. Based on that, the best time to travel to Ly Son is from April to August. During this period, the weather is relatively stable and pleasant, with little rain, so there will usually be sunshine for tourists to explore without worrying about disrupted plans. However, from April to June is the peak tourist season in Ly Son, so you also need to consider going during this time; otherwise, you will face crowds.
On the contrary, from September to December is the rainy season, stormy weather, and rough seas. Therefore, traveling during this time will involve quite a lot of risks and dangers. From late December to April is the season when green moss grows everywhere, and the coastal rocks of Ly Son will be covered with a layer of green moss, so this season is also not suitable for tourism here.

After arriving at Sa Ky port, tourists need to buy a ferry ticket to get to Ly Son Island. There are quite a few high-speed boats at the port with round-trip ticket prices ranging from 300,000 to 340,000 VND. Tourists remember to bring their ID card or driver's license to purchase tickets. The travel time from the port to the island will take about 35 minutes.

From Ly Son port, go 500 meters west to reach Am Linh Tu, which commemorates the ancestors who contributed to the reclamation and construction of the island and the soldiers of Hoang Sa who sacrificed their lives in the past.
