Conditions for conditional visa exemption
Citizens of the above countries (including Vietnam) can apply for a Taiwan e-visa with a maximum stay of 14 days if they meet the following requirements:
Passport valid for more than 6 months (from the date of entry).
Round-trip flight/train ticket or ticket to the next destination.
Never worked as a manual laborer in Taiwan.
Possess a visa/residence card (valid or expired within 10 years) from the following countries: the USA, Canada, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Schengen. A Taiwan visa (except for FL work visa, P Hong Kong visa, or other X visas) is also accepted.
If using an electronic visa from Australia or New Zealand, the visa must be valid.
The process for applying for an e-visa with visa exemption conditions
Visit the official website: https://niaspeedy.immigration.gov.tw/nia_southeast/.
Select a language (Vietnamese is supported) and fill in personal information, passport information, and trip details.
Upload necessary documents (if required).
If approved, the system will display “APPROVED”. Print this PDF file on A4 paper.
Upon entry, present the e-visa along with your passport, round-trip ticket, and visa/card from a third country (original, no copies accepted).
Note:
The e-visa is free, valid for 90 days, allowing a maximum stay of 14 days per entry.
You can only register for the e-visa a maximum of 6 times per year (from January 1 to December 31).
If the e-visa is denied, you can apply for a sticker visa at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
