Long Son Pagoda is located at 22, 23rd October Street, Phuong Son Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. It was built in the 19th century, has undergone many repairs and upgrades, and was officially completed in 1940. Besides the name Long Son, the pagoda is also referred to by locals as the White Buddha Pagoda or Dang Long Tu.
The overall architecture of the pagoda is quite impressive, with every detail showcasing sharpness and sophistication, from the curved tiled roof to the design inside the main hall. All of this creates a very familiar and close feeling with the traditional architecture of rural Vietnam.

If starting from the center of Nha Trang city, first you need to find the way to the Tram Huong Tower, then from Tram Huong Tower turn onto Le Thanh Tong Street, then continue onto Thai Nguyen Street and go straight to turn onto 23rd October Street.
If you are in the northern area, you will move along 2nd April Street towards the center of Nha Trang city, then turn onto Tran Quy Cap Street and 23rd April Street, continue straight to reach Long Son Pagoda.
Motorbike: Since the pagoda is quite close to the city center and easy to get to, visitors can rent a motorbike for about 100,000 - 120,000 VND per day.
Taxi: If traveling with a group, you should choose a taxi for safety and convenience, with a cost of about 100,000 - 150,000 VND per trip.

The pagoda gate is elaborately constructed
The pagoda gate is vibrantly built with distinctive patterns, reflecting an ancient style that aligns with traditional Vietnamese imperial architecture. The pagoda grounds are filled with greenery, providing a cool atmosphere, surrounded by areas dedicated to various Buddhas and deities, filled with the scent of incense.
The main hall is quite large
The pagoda has a spacious main hall covering an area of 1,670 m2, very airy, spacious, and serene. Notably, there is a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in the center of the pagoda, made of pure bronze, weighing up to 700kg. He is placed in the middle, with Bodhisattva Dai The Chi on the left and Bodhisattva Quan The Am on the right.
The altar area is lavishly decorated, with offerings prepared in full whether on regular days or full moon days, reflecting the respect and devotion of the Buddhist followers.
The main hall is built solidly, with a very sturdy wooden beam system, arranged in straight lines, each column intricately carved with reliefs depicting insightful phrases from Buddhist scriptures or teachings. This allows each Buddhist visitor to gain further enlightenment when they come here to pray.

After visiting and praying in the main hall, visitors should follow the small path beside the main hall. You will see a long path leading up to the white Buddha statue. This path represents the enlightenment of each person, with every step reflecting effort, loyalty, and faith in Buddhism.
When reaching step number 44, you will see a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni entering Nirvana, full of kindness and tranquility. This statue measures 7m in length and 5m in height, recreating a sacred scene as he leaves the earthly realm alongside images of dozens of monks praying behind.

From step number 44, visitors go up about 10 more steps to encounter a bell tower. This is a meaningful gift donated by Buddhist followers from Hue to Long Son Pagoda.

The white Buddha statue is a unique highlight of the pagoda
When you step onto the final step, you will behold the enormous white Buddha statue, dominating the entire sky. Despite enduring many storms, the statue still retains a bright, pure white color.
The white statue is made of concrete, standing 24m tall and 10m wide. The construction began in 1964 and was completed in 1965 by Venerable Thich Duc Minh - Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Buddhist Association in collaboration with sculptor Kim Dien.

After nearly a year of completion, the statue perfectly embodies the compassionate beauty of Buddha Shakyamuni and brings to the pagoda an outstanding spiritual architectural work. Here, visitors can freely light incense inside the main hall of the statue or around it.
