Ban Lac is an ancient village hidden in the valley of Chieng Chau commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh (now Phu Tho), about 140 km west of Hanoi. This is one of the oldest villages in Hoa Binh with over 700 years of history, home to the White Thai people.
In the past, the community of the village mainly belonged to five clans: Ha, Lo, Vi, Mac, and Loc. They primarily lived by farming and traditional brocade weaving. Recently, thanks to the interest and affection of tourists, Ban Lac has begun to develop economically, especially in the tourism sector with stilt house rental services for visitors to experience.
Currently, there are about 20 homestays in the form of stilt houses to cater to the accommodation needs of visitors. From here, choose a bus heading towards Thang Long Avenue, continue onto the Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh highway to reach Hoa Binh city.
